Ramona Lyn Toney joined Teddy, Meekins, & Talbert in November of 2002 as an investigator. Ms. Toney attended Gaston College in 1992, studying Basic Law Enforcement Training. She graduated from Mount Olive College with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 1999. In 2003, Ms. Toney received an associate's degree in Paralegal Technology from Gaston College.
Ms. Toney came to our firm with superb experience. She served as a police officer with the Shelby Police Department from 1992 to 2002. Prior to leaving the Shelby Police Department Ms. Toney was a Sergeant with the Patrol Division. Her duties as sergeant included the supervision of crime scenes, investigating accidents and the completion on incident reports. Ms. Toney held numerous other positions while working at the Department, including: Vice/Narcotics Division, Community Oriented Policing Unit, D.A.R.E., Honor Guard and Hostage Negotiator.
Ramona also interned at the Cleveland County District Attorney's Office in 2002. While there, she assisted with the case files and the gathering of information in preparation for trial.
In addition to her work experience, Ms. Toney has completed over forty training courses. Importantly, she has attended Institute of Government/Public Defenders Investigators Conference, Saint Louis University School of Medicine Medicolegal Death Investigator in Saint Louis Missouri, and the University of North Florida Crime Scene Reconstruction training. She is also a North Carolina Board Certified Licensed Private Investigator and a North Carolina Board Certified Paralegal.
Ramona has been listed in Who's Who and is a member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
